About the Center

The Mandarin Learning & Education Center (MLEC) of National Taiwan Ocean University is affiliated with the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Founded in 2013, the Center is dedicated to providing international students, exchange students, and the general public with a high-quality Mandarin learning environment, while also promoting Chinese culture and the unique marine characteristics of Taiwan.

Faculty

All instructors at MLEC hold master’s or doctoral degrees in Teaching Chinese as a Second/Foreign Language and possess the Ministry of Education’s Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language certification, ensuring effective support for students from diverse language backgrounds.

Location

The Center is located in Keelung, a scenic city surrounded by mountains and the sea, between Taipei City and New Taipei City.
It is only 30–40 minutes by car from downtown Taipei. Living and housing costs are approximately half of those in Taipei, making it a high-quality and affordable choice for studying Mandarin.
