General Education Center Fun Speech Contest

  • PurposeTo help students know more about Chinese culture and motivate students to learn Mandarin.
  • QualificationInternational and Oversea degree students of NTOU.
  • Schedule
  1. ApplicationFill in the Google sheet before Nov. 16th, each group 10 people at most. ( https://forms.gle/WL9m1CvvLTg2P7488 )
  2. Contest:3pm-6pm,   Dec. 2nd   
  3. Order of StageNov. 23rd will be announced on the website of General Education Center.
  4. LocationConcert Hall, NTOU (2 floor of the library)
  • Check inPlease bring your passport and your student ID with you on the day of contest.
  • Grouping
  1. Oversea Students: Students from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Myanmar and Macao who take Chinese Literature class.
  2. International Students: Foreign students except for Oversea students as above and have to take “Chinese Language for International Students I-IV”.
  • Topic (Please choose one as your topic)
  1. The most impressive things I met in Taiwan.
  2. Frustration I once met and how I conquer it.
  3. The most beautiful scenery in Taiwan.
  4. Chinese that has not been taught in the textbook.
  5. Something I want to do most after the pandemic.
  6. My travel experience in Taiwan.
  • Evaluation
  1. There will be several professional judges.
  2. There will be one bell remind on the 4th minute, and 2 bell remind on the 6th minute. If your speech is more than 7minute, the bell will keep ringing.
  3. The point deduction will be bases on the following form:

  1. The winner: NTD 1500 voucher, one winner at most.
  2. The second place winner: NTD 1000 voucher, two winners at most.
  3. The third place winner: NTD 800 voucher, two winners at most.

  • Copyright
    The contest will be recorded, and all contestants must agree to being recorded. The recordings mat be published on the website of the General Education Center and the Mandarin Learning and Education Center.

  • Notice
  1. All contestants must follow the regulation; General Education Center has the right to cancel the right of the contestant if any violation happened.
  2. The contest will follow the epidemic regulation of NTOU and the CECC. If there is any disaster of other major causes, the General Education Center has the right to cancel the contest. The cancellation will be announced on the website of General Education Center.
  3. The reward can be vacancy if the contestants don’t meet the standard of the contest.
  4. General Education Center DO NOT off any fee or props for the contestants. You may use the projector of the concert hall to display video, photo, or recordings. Please bring your own file and let us know whether you need the projector or not when you register in the contest.
