2025 Spring Semester Enhancement Class

1. Course Introduction:

This extracurricular tutoring enhancement class aims to provide diverse Mandarin courses and additional practice opportunities for international students at NTOU to improve their Mandarin proficiency.

2. Instructor: Bi-Shia Huang, Mandarin Learning Center.

3. Course Fee:  Free

4. Registration Period and Method:

1. Registration Period: From now until March 3, 2025. A total of three classes, with a maximum of 20 students per class, on a first-come, first-served basis.
2. Admission Announcement: The list of admitted students will be published on the Mandarin Learning Center website on March 4, 2025.
3. Eligibility: Only current NTOU students are eligible to apply.
4. Priority Admission Criteria:
   • Students who have previously taken Chinese Language for International Students (I) or (II).
   • Students who have participated in the 1st Semester 113th Academic Year Extracurricular Tutoring Enhancement Class or the Summer Enhancement Class.
   • Students with beginner-level Mandarin proficiency (equivalent to CEFR A1 or below).
   • Students preparing for the Band A level of the TOCFL (Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language).

5. Course Information:

1. Class Schedule: March 5, 2025 – June 18, 2025, every Wednesday from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The teacher will assign students to different groups based on proficiency levels on the first day.
2. Class Location: Room 410, 4th Floor, College of Life Sciences Building. ( CLS410 )
3. Total Course Hours: 45 hours.
4. Rewards and Incentives:
   • Full Attendance Reward: Students who attend all 15 classes without being late, leaving early, or being absent will receive an NTD 300 bookstore voucher as a reward.
   • Learning Incentive Reward: Students who participated in the 1st Semester 113th Academic Year Extracurricular Tutoring Enhancement Class and attended at least 10 sessions will receive an additional NTD 500 bookstore voucher, while still being eligible for the full attendance reward. This is to encourage students to increase their Mandarin learning hours.
   • Certificate Achievement Reward: Students who register for and pass the TOCFL (Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language) within three months after the course ends will receive an NTD 800 bookstore voucher as a reward.
